On arrival, students are given a written test (multiple-choice grammar and vocabulary questions plus open writing exercise) and are also interviewed individually before being assigned to one of the group levels ranging from Elementary to Advanced.
The maximum number of students per class is 15 with an average of 13 most years. There are a total of 30 hours of tuition in a two week course.
Students benefit from a professional, dynamic approach to teaching English with well qualified and experienced staff, using the most up-to-date teaching material and modern didactic methods. Emphasis is placed on increasing fluency, improving pronunciation, developing vocabulary, consolidating grammar and practising listening comprehension.
In addition, a selection of graded readers is made available to each class to encourage vocabulary development.
At the end of the course Certificates of Attendance are awarded but also Progress Reports which provide a more detailed description of students’ strengths and weaknesses. Each team of 2 class teachers also decides at the end of the course which 2 students in the class have made the most progress during the two weeks. Prizes are given to all nominated students.
